In the coming days, the Casa de las Muñecas Tiresias AC Tabasco Collective will demand through a protest that violent acts committed against the trans population be addressed from a gender perspective and prioritized in legislative agendas. It stated that so far in 2025 there have already been two cases in which trans women have lost their lives in violent acts.
Activist Alejandra Morales Arias shared that one of the most recent cases occurred in Cárdenas, where a trans woman was attacked with a machete and ultimately murdered. However, she explained that authorities are still investigating, as there is no information yet on the person(s) responsible for the incident.
Morales Arias also highlighted the lack of empathy and respect in society toward trans people , and criticized religious views that insist on the idea that only men and women exist, ignoring the cultural and thought diversity that characterizes the community.
Regarding the events, she reported that there has been a second case of transgender femicide in Tabasco this year, and that there is still no official closure or final resolution. Finally, she announced that she will hold demonstrations and demand justice for the victims and their families.
